Bluebook Recognized with 2026 Gaady Award for Accessibility

College Board earned a 2026 Gaady Award for making Bluebook fully accessible and for bringing students with disabilities directly into the process of testing, designing, and improving it. Bluebook is the College Board application students use on a laptop or tablet to take digital exams, including the SAT and AP Exams. Since 2024, more than 26 million assessments have been delivered digitally through Bluebook. College Board delivers accommodations to over 600,000 students with disabilities annually, ensuring that our powerful college and career opportunities are accessible to all learners. 

Presented by the GAAD Foundation in partnership with Fable, the award recognizes organizations that make accessibility and input from people with disabilities central to the product-development process. College Board was selected as 1 of 5 winners from a pool of 33 candidates from around the world. 

“Our responsibility is to make sure every student can demonstrate what they know without technology creating unnecessary barriers,” said Maggie Linak, executive director for Accommodations and Accessibility at College Board, who leads the organization's accessibility work. “That means building accessibility into Bluebook from the start and listening closely to students with disabilities throughout the process. Their experience and insight have made the product stronger for everyone―and made sure it can help every student pursue the college or career path they choose.” 

The recognition reflects the close collaboration among College Board’s accessibility and Bluebook teams and the students who have helped test the application, identify barriers, and shape improvements. Their feedback continues to guide efforts to create a more accessible digital testing experience for all students.
